When we mention Korean food, the first thing that would come to our mind would be KIMCHI~ Kimchi has become a favourite food of many foreigners who have tried it. Not only does it is made up of vegetable, making the dish one of the most ideal dish to eat as meal, it is also covered in delicious sauces that brings out the best taste of the cabbage.
Number 1
Eating kimchi with rice
Since kimchi is already considered as a kind of dish, kimchi can be eat directly with rice. The refreshing feeling coming from eating kimchi always captures the heart of people from all walks of life in the world. Some may think that kimchi is not their choice of food because it seems to be covered in RED chili sauce. While it may be true for some of the kimchis, but for some other kinds of kimchi, it is not true. Not all kimchis are spicy. Koreans have their own way of making many kinds of kimchi by seasoning the cabbage according to their own liking. So, there sweet kimchis, spicy kimchis, bitter kimchis, sour kimchis and so on. Other than that, kimchi can also be used to fry rice, as portrayed by one of the popular Korean restaurant in Malaysia - Ko Hyang.
Number 2 - Kimchi Jigae (Kimchi Soup)
Kimchi jigae is as it sounds, soup where its main ingredient is kimchi. Since the flavour of kimchi is very strong, it doesnt take much for a cook to make delicious Kimchi Jigae by adding a lot of kimchi the broth. Most people would add spices like garlic, ginger, sesame oil, fish sauce and so on into the kimchi jigae when they are making it. As for the type of meat that can be chosen from, we can choose any meat that we like and it would most likely get along with kimchi jigae. In Korea, people add chicken, pork, tuna, beef and so on. If one is vegetarian, it is also fine to not add any meat into the kimchi jigae and the jigae would still taste great without any meat. If vegetarians would like to, they can also add tofu into the jigae. So, for all kimchi lovers, you may want to give this cool dish a try!

Another way to eat kimchi is to add kimchi into Korean pancakes when cooking it. While plain korean pancakes are already delicious enough on its own, adding kimchi into korean pancakes when making them is a great way to enhance the taste of the korean pancake. The ways to make kimchi jeon is very easy. The flour of korean pancakes are readily available in the Korean market that are available in Malaysia. You will also be able to buy it in departmental stores like Aeon (food section). The basic ingredients of kimchi pancake is as simple as onion, salt, sugar, flour, vegetable oil. Even though Koreans eat this as a side dish, however, for some Malaysians, the portion of Kimchi jeon is big enough to be eaten as a meal.
Number 4 - Kimchi Ramyeun
As simple as it sounds, it is really easy and delicious to eat ramyeun with kimchi. The way of making it is as simple as adding kimchi into the ramyeun when you cook it. The delicious sauce of kimchi will enhance the taste of your ramyeun and bring it to another level of ramyeun.
